Putting together my music video playlist for this week, inspired by So You Think You Can Dances return to TV (hurrah)!...This one by Sia is definitely in the mix. The first time I saw it I was really turned off by it, but loved the song. Then the more I watched it, the more I appreciated the disturbing but genius vision that created this. The set allows your imagination to create a story around what happened to the dancer, Maddie Ziegler, and its not a pretty picture (unsmiling Moms photo hanging on the wall in one scene: a hint at mental illness?). This girl is all alone in this creepy and dilapidated house, with no one around to care for her. But her soaring dance moves speak to her unbroken spirit - such an amazing performance by Ms. Ziegler.
