Question! I know that many of us feel we are constantly having to explain our fair prices that are perceived as very high by the public. As I sit here on a Friday night quoting away, working each price out as fairly and accurately as I possibly can (and not charging for my quoting or sketching time at all), I wonder what you would all charge for a straightforward little job that my customer has found to be very expensive. 2 off 45mm x 20mm x 500mm build-in gate hinge pins with ragged ends (built-in end) and curved end (pin end) and 12mm diameter pins plus a substantial 6mm thick x 220mm long matching 2-sided build-in slam plate with a 12mm square bar feature / loop to take a sliding latch. Drawing required for builder to check prior to making. Assume that this needs to be really nicely made and very clean. Also assume that you have the12mm round in stock but no other stock material. Not galvanised - I quoted for rustproofing as a separate recommended option. Anyone willing to guestimate what they would charge approximately, including materials?
