Quite honestly I have not decided my opinion on the border control - TopicsExpress

Quite honestly I have not decided my opinion on the border control issue, but seeing some of my closest friends with strong opinions on the subject I thought I would give some of the other side. Many of us believe that many came here to avoid religious persecution, but there was also many who came in order to pursure wealth or for other freedoms. Some were also forced here in the form of slavery. Many times throughout our history we have tried to stop the flow of people including many Jewish people who were not allowed entry during the second world war (crfimmigrationed.org/index.php/lessons-for-teachers/144-hl5). You will also need to consider at what great lengths people have gone through in order to enter our country. Why would they try so hard? I remember an elementary teacher telling us stories about those from Central/South America entering into our country illegally and travelling across the desert with only their own urine as a form of keeping themselves hydrated. Others packed together as sardines in the back of trucks. Would any of you try to get into a country in this manner? How desperate must a person be? Finally, who had this country first? People remember the “Native American”, but what the other countries? Russia, Mexico…I know Wikipedia is not the best of source, but here is more information. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Territorial_evolution_of_North_America_since_1763
