RACE #2 BANNON 5 TOM JOY 4 RAINCOATS’NTUXEDOS 2 HITEC DAVE 1 BATHSHEBA STATION BATHSHEBA STATION was out of the money on turf here last time against a key winner, Courtville, who has since come back to run one of his best career races; he finally finished an ok sixth and in behind him in tenth was Tom Joy, who is here; he drops sharply for $20,000 and moves to Poly track. HITEC DAVE seemed to benefit from a gate work six days before his latest and he had sharp speed but was displaced and finished second in an ok race at seven furlongs; he shortens to six furlongs here; Campbell will take over and Wilson will be aboard Tom Joy; he worked July 14th in 48.2. BEST OF JOHN was in a slowly run race last time where he dropped sharply and finished third yielding the lead late. RAINCOATS’NTUXEDOS is one to consider because of his speed potential; his seasonal bow April 28th was a strong performance; he was subsequently unplaced in the New Providence and then did not keep up as the favourite in a recent returning first allowance event; however, second time off the shelf, he gets to plunge for $20,000 and enters here through his Ontario sire status. TOM JOY is a two time winner; he was out of the money on turf last time and behind Bathsheba Station; the winner has come back to run a peak race; he uses the mandatory drop down angle with the switch back to Poly track; his previous event on Poly track was good enough to make him a main contender here; he goes for trainer, Lorne Richards and Wilson will be aboard and they both built momentum last weekend. RISING DOUGH was favoured two starts ago but after a wide trip, was unplaced; most recently in this category at seven furlongs, he was fourth with a rating trip while Hitec Dave was better in second. VIGILARE has been unplaced in three consecutive events and most recently was sixth when Hitec Dave was second.
