REMEMBER WHAT GE DID “The Lord your God did to the Jordan just what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over.” Joshua 4:23 (Verse chosen from today’s Bible reading – Joshua 3-6 & 1 Corinthians 4) Joshua is giving the Israelites a history lesson. It’s a good one! God had gotten their parents across the Red Sea in a similar fashion. Crossing the Jordan wasn’t easy this time of year because it was the flood season. But Jesus cut off the flow from Adam completely. Miraculous to me, was that the land that had previously been under water was now completely dry. It was have been extremely difficult to cross on wet (muddy) ground but God not only stopped the water but He also dried up the land. I need to be mindful of what God has done in my life. I need to frequently think back about my blessings. How easy it is to confront a current problem with whining about my unfortunate lot in life. Woe is me! God listened to this sort of thing in the desert and finally gave up on a whole generation of Israelites. He had taken them across the Red Sea but they had forgotten about it. I must start every day in close union with Him. I must be well aware of His Goodness to me. I must be saturated with Him. The overflow of my heart must be Godly. “Lord, I love You. Who am I that You are mindful of me? I have sinned yet You have persisted with me. Forgive me for my waywardness. Thank You for blessing me in so many ways. How little I know of Your goodness. I commit this day to You. Guide me, O thou Great Jehovah!”
