REST IN PEACE TO MY AMAZING FATHER AND FRIEND. A true example of kindness, unconditional devotion, and patience. An absolute manly man turned total softie when his “Big Girl” came into the world. Gone were the days of shooting guns in the house and rolling Jeeps on Jump Off Joe—joyfully replaced by attending tea parties with my stuffed animals and shopping for pink ballet tights and fancy cowgirl boots. But as an only child a little princess, that was a two-way street…Thank you, Dad, for taking me fishing and camping and to every sportsman show that rolled through town, for introducing me to the great outdoors, for teaching me how to run barrels on my pony and to shoot guns, fix my bike and use all kinds of tools, for giving rides in the tractor bucket and getting my long hair stuck in an orbital sander. Thank you for modeling your compassion and love of all animals…how to respect and care for another living creature. How blessed I am to have such an involved, gentle, and committed father. You will forever be in my words and actions. “So much of what I know of love, I learned at home.” We will be celebrating my dad’s life with a memorial service on Saturday, October 18th at the Highlands Grange in Kennewick at noon. More details to follow in the next few days as we cope with this unexpected loss. Thank you to everyone that has reached out…we know that you are grieving, too. We hope to see you all there for memories, celebration of life, and remembrance of a great man and friend to everyone.
