RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL: THE KNOWLEDGE THAT MAKE US MASTERS FRIDAY 1ST NOVEMBER 2013 PASTOR CHRIS For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 1:9). In the opening verse above, the Apostle Paul specifically prayed for the Colossian brethren to be filled with the full knowledge of God’s will. This was the knowledge of God that Paul had, and lived by; which made him extraordinary and distinguished him among the Apostles. It’s the knowledge that makes us masters. It puts you over in life. In Christ, we’re ordained of God to live as champions and reign as kings in life. The reason this hasn’t been the experience of many is that they haven’t learnt to walk in the knowledge of God’s will. Romans 12:2 tells us about the good, the acceptable, and the perfect will of God: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. The ultimate is walking in God’s perfect will; but that only builds from having fellowship with the Holy Spirit. As you fellowship with Him through prayer, study of the Word and meditation, you’ll know His perfect will, intent and purposes. Through that intimacy, you’ll become more like Him; united with Him in thought and character. You become a consistent victor when you function with the full and exact knowledge of His perfect will for your life. You’ll always know what to do in every situation; all your efforts and resources will constantly be channelled in the right direction to achieve the right results. You can know and live in His perfect will. PRAYER: Dear Father, thank you for guiding me through your Word, and the Holy Spirit, to know and walk in your perfect will for me. I’m filled with your wisdom to overcome every challenge I may face, and to do excellently in all my endeavours, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY: Hebrews 13:20-21(NIV) 20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (CEV) 20 God gives peace, and he raised our Lord Jesus Christ from death. Now Jesus is like a Great Shepherd whose blood was used to make Gods eternal agreement with his flock. 21 I pray God will make you ready to obey him and that you will always be eager to do right. May Jesus help you do what pleases God. To Jesus Christ be glory forever and ever! Amen. (KJV) 20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (AMP) 20 Now may the God of peace [Who is the Author and the Giver of peace], Who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood [that sealed, ratified] the everlasting agreement (covenant, testament), 21 Strengthen (complete, perfect) and make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; [while He Himself] works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ (the Messiah); to Whom be the glory forever and ever (to the ages of the ages). Amen (so be it). Ephesians 1:15-17(NIV) 15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit [a] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. (KJV) 15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, 16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (CEV) 15 I have heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all Gods people. 16 So I never stop being grateful for you, as I mention you in my prayers. 17 I ask the glorious Father and God of our Lord Jesus Christ to give you his Spirit. The Spirit will make you wise and let you understand what it means to know God. (AMP) 15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God), 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. 17 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, DAILY SCRIPTURE READING PLAiN: 1 Year Bible Reading Plan: Hebrews 1, Haggai 1-2 2 Year Bible Reading Plan: John 9:1-7, 1 Chronicles 1
