RICH AND POOR..... IF YOU OBEY GODs COMMAND, GOD WILL BLESS YOU--AS A NATION.... God said thru moses to the israelites, as a group, that there should be no poor among you because you are to help your poor brothers as God will bless the land He promised to give you if you will only obey Gods command.. it is not true that being a poor is and will be always a gauge or a standard of a curse.. it will only be a curse if others did not contribute to help others and pointing the cause of such curse to the rich people, not to the poor but to the rich, because the rich people failed to help those who are in need.. in fairness to those who are generous, they are not part of the the allege curse and cause of poverty... God said, there should be no poor among you because you, as a group, will become rich if you as a group will obey Gods commands... and you are to help those individual who are truly in need.. for sure God said, there will always people who are in need, those who are really need help and assistance,.. (but those poor people because of laziness and become needy all the time for not working is a different thing--according to paul, lazy people must be contented with what they have and not to pass their burden to others--they must not complain nor groan because such is there making).. let us see the verses below regarding rich and true poor brothers... Deuteronomy 15:4-11 (NIV)... 4. However, THERE SHOULD BE NO POOR AMONG YOU, for in the land the LORD your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, HE WILL RICHLY BLESS YOU, 5. IF ONLY YOU FULLY THE LORD YOUR GOD and are CAREFUL TO FOLLOW ALL THESE COMMANDS I am giving you today. 6. For the LORD your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you. 7. IF THERE IS A POOR MAN AMONG YOUR BROTHERS IN ANY OF THE TOWNS of the land that the LORD your God is giving you, DO NOT BE HARDHEARTED OR TIGHTFISTED TOWARD YOUR POOR BROTHER. 8. Rather BE OPENHANDED and FREELY LEND HIM WHATEVER HE NEEDS. 9. Be careful not to harbor this wicked thought: The seventh year, the year for canceling debts, is near, so that you DO NOT SHOW ILL WILL TOWARD YOUR NEEDY BROTHER and GIVE HIM NOTHING. He may then appeal to the LORD against you, and you will be found guilty of sin. 10. GIVE GENEROUSLY TO HIM and do so without a grudging heart; THEN BECAUSE OF THIS THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL BLESS YOU IN ALL YOUR WORK and IN EVERYTHING YOU PUT YOUR HAND TO. 11. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE POOR PEOPLE in the land. Therefore I command you to BE OPENHANDED toward your brother and TOWARD THE POOR and NEEDY IN YOUR LAND. God said that if our heart is cheerful in giving to those who are really in need (not because of laziness they become poor and in need all the times), God will prosper us more... that, if we will not call those who are poor under a curse or to show ill towards them for being such but to show true generosity to those who are really in need.. because of mixed cultures, values and religions other christians are and may be affected by others doings.. so, as christians, we must be careful with our words saying if you are poor now you are already cursed or under a curse.. what if tomorrow, the situation turns up side down and the one whom you once called cursed become your boss if he did not join your allege christian group?? yes, there should no poor among us... but only if we are only willing to help and to assist those who are really in need til they become independent and no longer in need.. and to tell also those who are lazy to be contented with what they have and for them to stop complaining because their being poor is there own making already.. not of God nor because of the rich people.. being lazy is a bad attitude influenced by the devil.. and surely if you do not work because you are lazy and God is not with you, you will become poor... even poorer than you expect... paul said, if you want to eat, you must then work and you must exert efforts to uplift your standard of living and of course, obey Gods words (also to give our tithe because that is due to God), help those who are REALLY IN NEED,.... so that God will be pleased with us and He will bless us more in whatever we do...
