#ROADWORKS - WEEK COMMENCING 12TH AUGUST Please note that dates are correct at time of going to press. Works may be affected by inclement weather and updates will be issued where possible. STOCKTON TOWN CENTRE WORKS St Johns Crossing – Riverside / Bridge Road, Stockton Birse Civils LTD are continuing works on a scheme to improve access to Stockton town centre. The works will include two new linked signal-controlled junctions in place of the existing Riverside Road / Bridge Road roundabout, and realignment of Riverside Road to straighten out its connection with 1825 Way. The construction works are expected to be completed in autumn 2013. The majority of the work will take place during the daytime with most traffic management measures in place between 9:30am and 3:30pm. To facilitate the full removal of the Riverside roundabout and construction of the new junction, a temporary right turn ban will be in operation for all vehicles exiting Parkfield Road out onto Bridge Road from 15th July for approximately 18 days, 24hr operation. To allow carriageway construction and resurfacing works to be carried out, various overnight road closures / lane restrictions will be in operation during weeknights for the next 2-3 weeks. Monday 12 August – Friday 16 August – Temporary lane restrictions and road closures will be in operation at various locations on Churchyard Link Road and Bridge Road / A1305 Bridge Road. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Dovecot Street area As part of the Stockton Town Centre regeneration scheme, works will start on Dovecot Street between Café Nero and the Storytellers pub near ARC on Tuesday 6 August 2013 for approximately 34 weeks. The following traffic management arrangements will be in place for seven weeks: Dovecot Street – Temporary one way only from Brunswick Street to Prince Regent Street (with access to Prince Regent Street / Nelson Terrace only). The eastern length between Prince Regent Street / Nelson Terrace and the High Street will be closed (except for access for business deliveries/loading) and a "left turn only" will be in operation out of West Row Car Park. Prince Regent Street – Temporary lane restrictions will be in operation in each direction. Signed diversions will be in operation. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. OTHER WORKS Darlington Road, Stockton As a result of SBC Direct Services carrying out a tarmac footpath maintenance scheme, temporary two-way traffic signals and Stop / Go boards will continue to be in operation, where required, on Darlington Road for approximately 1 week. Bishopton Road West, Stockton As a result of SBC/Lafarge Tarmac carrying out a number of carriageway resurfacing works, temporary 2-way, 3-way and 4-way traffic signals (Hattons Traffic Management 01388 710880) are required along Bishopton Road West, from Rimswell Road / Fairfield Road traffic lights along to Elm Tree Ave junction, and on to the Barlborough Avenue junction, starting Thursday 1 August until approx Friday 16 August 2013, off peak working only. Norton Road, Stockton As a result of the Brown Jug demolition works, temporary traffic signals (Ashtead Plant Hire 07867786196 will be in operation) on Norton Road between Mount Pleasant Road and Windmill Terrace from 6am-6pm, Sunday 11 August. A177 Durham Road, Stockton As the result of Northern Gas Networks carrying out urgent gas main repairs, temporary traffic Signals (Coneworx 01642 625999 ) are required on A177 Durham Road between Hardwick roundabout and The Horse & Jockey roundabout from Monday 5 August until Friday 30 August 2013, 24hr operation manually controlled at peak times. Teesside Park Drive, Thornaby As a result of SBC Direct Services carrying out drain repair works, a temporary south bound splitter lane closure will be in operation south of the A66 overbridge from Monday 5 August until Friday 16 August 2013. Yarm Bridge, Yarm As a result of SBC carrying out repairs to the bridge parapet, temporary traffic signals (Premier TM 01388 815661) will be in operation on Yarm Bridge between 7:00pm and 06:00am from Monday 5 August until Friday 9 August 2013. Thornaby Road / Millbank Lane / Uppergreen Lane, Thornaby As a result of Northern Powergrid/Balfour Beatty Solutions carrying out replacement of HV electric cables, temporary traffic signals (Coneworx 01642 625999 / 07703671769) are required at the Thornaby Road / Millbank Lane / Uppergreen Lane, junction from 12 August until 23 August 2013. Signals to be manned at peak times. A139 Norton Road, Norton As a result of SBC/Lafarge Tarmac carrying out carriageway resurfacing works, temporary 2-way traffic signals and temporary lane closures (Hattons Traffic Management 01388 710880) are required on Norton Road, from Norton Avenue to The Red Lion roundabout, on Sunday 11 August 2013, for one day only. Skripka Drive Billingham As a result of SBC/Lafarge Tarmac carrying out carriageway resurfacing works, temporary 2-way traffic signals (Hattons Traffic Management 01388 710880) are required on Skripka Drive, from Whitehouse Road to Hazelmere Close, from Monday 12 August until Friday 16 August 2013, off peak working only. Clifton Avenue, Billingham As a result of SBC/Lafarge Tarmac carrying out carriageway resurfacing works, temporary 2-way traffic signals (Hattons Traffic Management 01388 710880) are required on Clifton Avenue from Monday 12 August until Friday 16 August 2013, off peak working only. Neasham Avenue Billingham As a result of SBC/Lafarge Tarmac carrying out carriageway resurfacing works, temporary 2-way traffic signals (Hattons Traffic Management 01388 710880) are required on Neasham Avenue, from Low Grange Avenue to Otterburn Way, from Wednesday 13 August until Friday 16 August 2013, off peak working only. Melrose Avenue Billingham As a result of SBC/Lafarge Tarmac carrying out carriageway resurfacing works, temporary 2-way traffic signals (Hattons Traffic Management 01388 710880) are required on Melrose Avenue from Wednesday 14 August until Friday 16 August 2013, off peak working only Braemar Road Billingham As a result of SBC/Lafarge Tarmac carrying out carriageway resurfacing works, a temporary road closure to through traffic (Hattons Traffic Management 01388 710880) is required on Breamar Road, from Marsh House Avenue to Farleigh Close, from Thursday 15 August until Tuesday 20 August 2013, off peak working only.
