ROBES TO RUIN (DANNY AND MATILDA) – 89 - EMILY – “TO TRAVEL HOPEFULLY” ;) - August 2011 - Emily had been impressed by Matildas bass guitar playing that morning at church (MATILDE was the SUNSHINE OF THE MORNING) – just before church started, the regular bass player was unavailable. Someone handed her a 5-string bass and asked her to play; she was superb – and it was someone else’s bass guitar. - After lunch, Emily called on Danny and Matilda; she saw Matilda’s own FENDER JAZZ 5-STRING BASS GUITAR – you must have played in a band - Matilda smiled ;) and gave a quick extract from Red Hot Chili Peppers “Tell me baby” – for those who know the song, she started about 3 minutes from the beginning – Emily was seriously impressed ;)* - She hadn’t played that in the band, but she had done other Chili Peppers songs – the last song the band did was “Under the Bridge” – 5 years ago [2006] - Then they discuss the Band – it was 2005/06 when Danny and Matilda were first year undergraduates: Danny was the Demon Drummer, and MAD MATILDA was the bass guitar player. Miranda the singer/guitarist was in her third year, and she graduated in 2006, and… - The Band was no more? - Something like that ;) - They discuss Emily’s Theatre Company, Church, God, and Emily’s quest for the meaning of life. London was seriously busy and Emily and her friends worked hard and played hard, but it was good to get away from time to time – and resume the quest for meaning… - Matilda gave a cute and mischievous smile ;)* - What ;) - It would be a pity to spoil it all by finding the answer – LOOOLL ;) - Oh, right… - YOU, my dear, would prefer to travel hopefully than to arrive ;) - Emily admits it: the journey is the reward ;) - Hmmmmm... -
