ROLLA CITY COUNCIL PASSES HISTORIC PRESERVATION ORDINANCE Monday evening the Rolla City Council passed a Historic Preservation Ordinance. Among other things, the Ordinance establishes a Historic Preservation Commission. The Commission will consist of five members, selected from a broad cross-section of the community. Now is the time for citizens who have been vocal in their support for historic preservation in Rolla and Phelps County to step forward and put their words into action. The Commissioners will be nominated by the Mayor and appointed by the City Council. If you would like to be considered for appointment to the Commission, please notify the Mayor or City Clerk at City Hall. You do not have to be a resident of Rolla in order to serve on the Commission, although a majority of the Commissioners must be residents.
