RUDDERLESS--NOT A BIKE MOVIE BUT IT DOES HAVE SOME BIKES IN - TopicsExpress

RUDDERLESS--NOT A BIKE MOVIE BUT IT DOES HAVE SOME BIKES IN IT Sunday afternoon I went up to Quail Springs Mall to see the movie Rudderless on its first weekend showing to the general public. The film is entertaining, thought-provoking and was entirely filmed in Oklahoma City and Guthrie--many of you probably saw the filming from the bike path at the lake in June of 2013. It is the first movie to be directed by William H. Macy and has some solid acting by Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin, Felicity Huffman and many others. The lead actor is dealing with loss by removing himself from society and goes everywhere by bike. The story line is direct but with a shocking twist that is very unexpected. There is a good blend of humor and sadness that keep the story moving well and it winds up on a hopeful note. I definitely recommend going to see this movie. Many local people and businesses provided props and film locations for the movie. Pro Bike supplied the bike parking rack (and the bikes parked in it) which was shown in several scenes at the edge of the boat harbor at Lake Hefner. We were happy to help out the Macy crew and we hope that they will be back soon to make another movie!
