Rampart Portfolio Partners LLC - MDEF Investing One Hell of a Week for MDEF The events and stories of this week show that mankind has never changed, will not change because we cannot change. I was asked this morning if it was too late to invest in this market as events are overwhelming on many fronts; and the last time we had $4+/gal gasoline the market lost 50%. To this I must say no. The only economic control mechanisms still available to governments and bankers are to 1) Inflate prices (see: The War at Home - Inflation v Deflation), and 2) International Conflict (War). The MDEF strategy takes into account human nature and history that - believe it or not - are not dissimilar to our current geopolitical and economic situations. Governments and individuals alike will continue putting capital where real DEMAND is generated: Metals, Defense, Energy & Food.
