Rarely enough do we see the mask slip. Carefully thought out media - TopicsExpress

Rarely enough do we see the mask slip. Carefully thought out media strategy dictates that with their every word, they are to appear as reformed and chasing the peace. If they are to appeal to a non working class base that they will be soft spoken and where the need arisis, they will even summon a tear or two to re-enforce their well rehearsed public positions. Tears of sorrow shed for Mandela, expressions of sympathy and support for the Paisley family. Describing both as peacemakers of our time, the irony of their soft spoken words seems to have eluded the doctors of spin. Mandela, a former revolutionary who advocated armed action against oppressive regimes and Paisley, a reactionary bigot who incited and supported state oppression and state sponsored murder. In typical two faced line dancing we have come to expect, Sf sought to use the passing of both in order to portray themselves as all things to all men. I have no doubt what so ever that my words will be used against me in the future but to watch such cynical and unchallenged use of print and broadcast media to position themselves as caring and compassionate leaves me wondering if in fact Dr Joseph Gobbles has been reincarnated.
