Reached the common earlier this morning after a restless night. Perturbed rather than disturbed, but either way sleep was as distant as the dreams I never had. But such is the way of things, for I witnessed a scene I grew up with, but saw it today as for the first time. The fog rolling back from the river in the far distance as mountainous pale purple clouds rose up behind, their crests lit up with golden snow as the sun broke through the grey behind me. The golden tide of sunlight crept in shore from the river, across the plain and slowly trickled into the shadows of the valleys. Honey hued cottages and barns and fire tinted trees began to glow as they were touched by illumination. And as I stood on top of the world looking out across this pastel shaded vista, I too felt the glow within begin to grow as light touched me and the warmth took hold of my soul. Have a lovely day all
