Ready for an Adventure? Find out more about Operation Wallacea June 2015: Open to Years 10 to 13 To all Learners, Parents and Guardians for Years 10 to 13: Discover the adventure that awaits you at the informational session about the two-week expedition to Southeast Sulawesi in Indonesia which will run in June 2015. Find out more about the expedition where members will help to carry out biodiversity surveys and work alongside the scientists and research assistants of Operation Wallacea. During the expedition, students will be based in the endemic rich rainforest of Sulawesi, complete jungle survival skills training, help monitor the forest structure, complete a lecture course on Ecology of Wallacea forests, dive to collect data on reef ecology, and more. Another great reason to participate in Operation Wallacea! It is possible for students to gain course credits if going on to universities in the United States, as the expedition covers key aspects of biology and geography syllabuses. If applying for UK universities, students will automatically qualify for the Universities Award that can be included on their UCAS form. Many students use these opportunities to improve their university applications and/or conduct research for the IB Diploma Extended Essay or Internal Assessments in a number of subject areas.
