Reagans actions in early 80s to ignore the safety concerns for the working conditions of the Air Traffic Controllers began the campaign to decrease union approval and membership, and increase passage of state right to work laws. It also marked the beginning of the massive decline in wage growth while productivity and profits have skyrocketed. Unions are not an anathema to business or labor but boost the market, the benefits, and the working conditions for all when workers are respected for the skills and workmanship they exhibit. The NLRB needs to act on behalf of labor to bring back that more balanced work environment. Give workers the chance to vote yea or nay without keeping the rules so one-sided in favor of business.
