Real Madrid’s World Record Breaker? Real Madrid are on the run to break a World Record yet again and this time it’s to break the most consecutive wins in the world (26) which is currently held by Ajax during their 1971-1972 campaign. Having won 22 games in a row and scoring animpressive 81 goals on their way. The Whites are on a roll in 2014 under Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti, they are unbeatable at this point; with their current run of wins they have already managed to beat rivals Barcelona in their record of most wins in a row which was 18 games in the 2005 – 2006 campaign. Real Madrid have arguably been having their best year ever in a long time after finally winning their 10thEuropean Cup title which was deemed as an obsession for the club after failing to win it in 10 years. The 10 times European champions went on to win Copa Del Rey after beating Barcelona in the final after a remarkable run in the competition. With that being said, Real Madrid ended the season on a high and started the current campaign on a successive run after winning the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup thus securing their fourth title in 2014. The current European champions will be facing tougher teams to break the world record after defeating San Lorenzo; they will be facing Valencia at the Mestalla on their return to La Liga following the winter break. If they do manage to secure a win at the Mestalla their next fixture will be against city rivals Atletico Madrid in Vicente Calderon. Beating those teams is no easy task especially since they are both away games but winning those will equal them to Brazilian side Curitiba (24). If all goes well for Real Madrid they will only need to beat 3 more teams after in order to break the World Record (26).
