Regarding the oral polio vaccination - i was at aga khan hospital and talking to one of the consultants yesterday. He said that any person above the age of 5 should not get an oral vaccination for polio as the effects are worse than the benefit. It should only be taken as a jab. Him and the medics do not understand why india has recomended this. They get the vaccines from France and the french company has also written to the india ministry of health regarding the same and the ministry has said they will review this and issue new directives shortly. Can anyone in the medic field confirm if the above is true cause id rather wait and not have the vaccination than to have it and face consequences.
