Regretfully, I did not capture many photos or much video from my most recent hunt. Yet another archery bull tag goes unfilled. A freezer void of savory elk meat. The majestic creature has yet again evaded my grasp. I can say with confidence that this was one of my most difficult of my hunts to date. Testing my mental and physical abilities with each day that passed. It is hunts like these that help one to re-center their priorities and remind you why you are here in the first place. I found myself stressed and quite unpleasant to be around during a brief moment a few days into the pursuit. For this I am not proud. Quickly I looked around and grasped my reality and it came back in with clear focus. My reality is a dream that I, myself, am living in real life. Everywhere I looked I could see Gods grace. The absence of buildings and structures crowding the horizon. The buzz of the bees rather than the buzz of cars. All of these things, including the challenges and struggles are what make each hunt a unique and beautiful experience. I yearn for more in the depths of my soul and I will keep climbing that mountain and pushing my limits. Thanks for all the help Cole Talboom. I value your friendship and appreciated your company on this hunt. Looking forward to many more in the future! Congratulations to all those successful on the early archery hunt. And to those who were also unable to fill their tags, I challenge you to come away with something positive and keep that passion alive. Use it as a driver to push even harder next time around. For its not simply the kill that a true hunter seeks, its the pursuit that fuels this undying passion that burns deep within us! The relationship between predator and prey is one of great complexity built on respect. Ill leave you with a short clip of one of the beautiful animals I pursued for last 2 weeks.
