Reign of Sorrow, Tears and Blood in Ogun. Our State Needs - TopicsExpress

Reign of Sorrow, Tears and Blood in Ogun. Our State Needs Prayers With the nature and disposition of those currently in charge of our collective patrimony, it should be clear that Ogun State people have to pray to survive the rest of the tenure of the Amosun government. This is because we are not just losing resources, the State has also been under the spell of losing blood since the arrival of the present government. We call on religious leaders to intercede ceaselessly for our State. The incessant fatal accidents which have led to the loss of many lives is a cause for concern. They should pray against blood sucking demons and all sorts of spiritual wickedness in high places which has been let loose on the land just because of the lust for power. We recall the painful death of Apagun Oluwole Olumide, the death in quick succession of prominent Egba Chiefs and leaders, and the death of a student of Tai Solarin University of Education when he came with his colleagues to protest against the highhanded decision to scrap the first University of Education in Nigeria. Thursday May 31, 2012, saw two people meeting their untimely end in a multiple accident on the Ogun States portion of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as about 10 tankers got burnt in the multiple accident. On Tuesday, June 5, 2012, it was the turn of the Ogun ACN chairmanship aspirant in Waterside Local Government to lose his life in a suspicious road accident. While the people of the State were still battling to understand the lone accident resulting in the death of the chairmanship aspirant, Tuesday July 17, 2012 witnessed the death of two police inspectors and a suspect they went to arrest in another road accident on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway at a spot near Itori. This was followed on Saturday September 8, 2012 by the ghastly loss of twelve people when they were burnt to death in another road crash on the Sagamu-Benin expressway between Odogbolu and Ososa. A bigger tragedy struck on Tuesday September 18, 2012, as no fewer than 30 people were killed in another road crash near Mobalufon junction, Ijebu-Ode. And on Friday October 19, 2012, 33 people lost their lives as the bus conveying them plunged into a river at the J4 area, along the Ogbere axis of the Sagamu-Benin expressway. Sunday, October 28, 2012 saw four more people losing their lives in another road accident, this time right in front of the State Governors Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. It is difficult not to be disturbed by this harvest of death but we are confident that the Good God would hearken to the cries of the people of Ogun State if we all go to Him in prayer and it would only be a matter of time before we bring to an end this era of sorrow, tears and blood. Notable businessman and phillantropist, Mr Segun Ayobolu, reportedly packed up all his businesses in Ogun State and laid off all his employees because of the continuing insecurity in the State and the killing of Mr Toyin Amzat at Sagamu. These events lend credence and validation to the thrust of our position here. NB:Governor Amosun Wants Me Dead – APC Senator Cries Out Barely a week after the violent attack on journalists, party faithfuls and innocent residents, at the All Peoples Congress, APC Leme Secretariat in Abeokuta, Ogun State, by suspected hoodlums believed to be loyal to the Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, no fewer than nine people have again been seriously injured in a shoot-out in Wasimi, Ewekoro Local Government Area of the State. The Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Gbenga Obadara who lawfully planned to host a senatorial meeting is directly pointing accusing fingers at the State Governor. Senator Obadara on Thursday had escaped death, but his police orderly, Sergeant Sunday Akinbode was shot by suspected thugs in Wasimi, while other APC members were also shot with several others injured in the attack. Also caught in the hail of bullets fired by the APC thugs were Senator Akin Odunsi representing Ogun West and members of the House of Representatives, including Olumide Osoba (Obafemi/Owode), Adekunle Adeyemi (Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency) and Remi Bakare, a former governorship candidate. Journalists, including Sheriff Balogun (Thisday), Daud Olatunji (Vanguard), Dimeji Kayode Adedeji (Premium Times) and Segun Olatunji (Punch) also escaped death by the whiskers.
