Relief from the temple of Khonsu at Karnak. XX Dynasty, reign of Ramesses IV. The king makes an offering of food and drink to the god Khonsu-Neferhotep. In his left hand the king holds a statuette of himself, depicted as a seated god with an heqa scepter, and a sundisc and feather on his head ; a rebus for the throne name of Ramesses IV : Heqamaatre . The god Khonsu, seated on a throne, and with a moon disc and crescent on his falcons head, gives life and universal dominion to the king (the ankh sign in his left hand , and a was scepter and shen ring in his right hand). Inscription between the two figures : the lord of the Two Lands : Heqamaatre-Setepenamun , the Lord of the Crowns : Ramesses-Meryamun . Words spoken by Khonsu-Neferhotep : I have given to you the lifetime of Re. Above the kings head is the vulture of Nekhbet, and behind the king is written : Protection of life is behind him, like Re .
