Religion & Faith; Its well now over 3 weeks since the girls in Nigeria went missing - their abduction has religion written all over it. The group believed to be holding them captive is known as Boko Haram. This militant group is influenced by a verse from the Quran which says: Anyone who is not governed by what Allah has revealed is among the transgressors. So according to them God does not allow anyone from going to school, put on a shirt or even trousers. But these guys are not alone, the world over, the religion of Islam has unfortunately become synonymous with violence. Granted that God does not want his people to put on a shirt - is it ever justified to kill in his name? If you are familiar with Islamic teachings, does God sanction violence in a cause that is meant to advance his ways? What does the Quran say about this?
