Renewal of Concealed Carry Permits Lots of questions coming in about expiration of concealed carry permits and how to renew. First, YOU NO LONGER NEED TO GO TO THE LICENSE BUREAU FOR ANYTHING. Everything is handled by the Sheriffs Department. Because the license bureau no longer has any involvement in the process, you WILL NOT get a notice of when you expire. You have to track that yourself, and be careful because you may have an old ID that expires in 6 years but your concealed carry status will expire in three years. The concealed carry expiration is located in the upper right hand corner. Once you renew with the Sheriffs Department, they give you a card that is no longer a state ID card that is specific to your concealed carry status.
