Republicans blocked legislation to create infrastructure jobs, to renew expired tax breaks, an increase in the minimum wage, the Paycheck Fairness Act, unemployment benefits, and a veterans benefits bill--all supposedly because we dont have the money for them. But give them a foreign conflict to meddle in and they are all in with their American taxpayer checkbook out. Things like poverty, gun violence, our crumbling infrastructure, and veterans who cannot get help evidently dont matter. I particularly liked the clips of Alabama Republican Jeff Sessions who, in 2003, was saying that we made a commitment to our troops and that we should honor that commitment. Then on June 11, 2014, he is shown saying (about the VA Reform Bill) that we need to resist the temptation to create more and more entitlements [for these veterans]. Evidently, once Republicans are done using a soldier to fight a war, that soldier doesnt need or deserve anything from the federal government. Republicans will write a blank check to fund a war, but they wont spend anything to help those veterans once the war is over. Its pathetic and disgusting. I am ashamed that these politicians are allowed to call themselves Americans.
