Researchers at the University of Michigan have linked Vitamin D deficiency with an increased incidence of gastrointestinal and ear infections in school aged children. The study followed 427 school aged children over a 12 month period. They found a link between Vitamin D deficiency and increased episodes of vomiting and diarrhoea, and earache with discharge and fever. Vitamin D is known to play an important part in immune system function. When did you last have your Vitamin D level checked? Most people are surprised to find they are low.
