Residential Burglary & Vehicle Crimes Update. Attached are maps showing Residential Burglaries (blue dots) & Vehicle Crimes (green dots) over the last seven day period in Ventura. Over the last week there were 7 Residential Burglaries reported. This is an increase of 1 from the previous week. Of the incidents: 6 were via no force, …. open/unlocked garages (5) and 1 unlocked two story window, and 1 was via force. Times of day were: 2 daytime, 2 nighttime, and 3 unknown time of day. Days of the week were 2 weekday, 2 weekend, and 3 unknown day of week. Items taken included: hunting bow, laptop, cash, bike, jewelry, and a safe. Vehicle Crimes: over the last week there were 14 total vehicle crimes reported. This is the same number as last week. Of the incidents 4 were the result of unlocked/open doors and windows and 10 were via forced entry (window smash/pried). Times of day were 6 nighttime, 2 day, and 6 unknown time of day. Days of the week were 5 weekday, 3 weekend, and 6 unknown. Items taken included: iPads, GPS unit, laser level, grinder, drill bits, clothing, CDs, shoulder bag, credit cards, drivers license, personal documents, makeup, cash, gasoline, and miscellaneous baseball equipment. Please share this information with family, friends, and neighbors. Again, we cannot stress enough the importance of remembering to always keep your doors and windows locked (whether home or vehicle), remove valuables from your vehicle (and if you can’t please place in trunk or at the very least hide them from plain sight).
