Retirement reception for Ken Gray to be held Friday (June 27) Kenneth D. Gray is retiring after 17 years as the vice president for student affairs. A reception to celebrate his service to the University will be held on June 27 at 3 p.m. in E. Moore Hall. All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend.Gray, a retired U.S. Army major general, is a 1969 graduate of the College of Law. He is the first and only African-American general officer in the history of the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps since its creation in 1775. After his retirement from the JAG Corps, he returned to his alma mater to lead a robust student affairs office that promotes a positive, student-centered campus where students are able to grow personally, intellectually, and realize their dreams.
