Review: Momoman An impromptu late lunch owing to the last minute call with Esha Shah and Rohan Bhatt.. So I entered the place that looked like theyre renovating to eventually find out they were doing product photography vis-a-vis serving the customers. Not making a point, just saying.. Ambiance -6/10 The sitting area seemed somewhat similar to their older version at a different place with tables laid out in a rectangular box. The improvement was the self-serving model they incorporated with flat counter and small tablet screens displaying their menu, very similar to the likes of MacD, Subway, etc. The overall ambiance does not have any specific appeal and it is not likely to connect it with the food theyre serving. Also, the product photography didnt give me much to analyse beyond that. Now, the more important stuff.. This is what we had ordered: Shadong Potato (veg) - 9/10 Awesome dish. Wonderfully flavored potato slices served with spicy red chilly chutney that just makes you wanna eat more. The taste is quite distinctive and is not killed by the spices. First thing to order here when you visit. Momos (veg) - 7/10 (Veggie Momo, Spinach Cheese Momo) I found it good but not great at all. It lacked overall seasoning and acidity. The stuffing was not bad but the texture of the momos was dryer than i expected. Momos - 6/10 (Chicken & Cheese Momo, Mince chicken Momo) Apart from aforementioned lack of seasoning and acidity, the taste of chicken felt odd and lacked freshness. Huge improvement required here. Chicken Satay - 6.5/10 Too much of peanut flavor that no other flavor could be felt properly. The chicken was a bit less in quantity per stick so it was difficult to eat and it was also not perfectly cooked. The taste was still nice overall. Basil Thai Noodle (veg) - 8.5/10 Brilliant. Wonderfully cooked, very generous quantity, great presentation in the paper bowl, beautiful ingredients, amazing balance of flavors. Can be an everyday lunch meal. Chocolate Momos - 6/10 I found it okay as the outer shell was too thick and although the combination works, the thickness of momo takes away the pleasure of tasting the chocolate thats inside. Overall - 7/10 This is a good place to visit overall and you can go there everyday for Shadong potato and noodles.
