Revisiting My Film Library: Watching Anubhav 1971, Avishkaar (1973) and Griha Pravesh (1979) of Basu Bhattacharya. It won the 1972 National Film Award for Second Best Feature Film and started a trend later picked by the mainstream cinema. The film is also remembered for playback singer, Geeta Dutts finest songs composed by music director Kanu Roy and lyrics by Gulzar, like Meri Jaan Mujhe Jaan Na Kaho, Koi Chupke Se Aake and Mera Dil Jo Mera Hota. The movie revolves around the happenings of one night with clippings from the past. Amar and Mansi unfold their past in a series of flashback sequence of their love, marrage, disappointments and then star of life again. Kapil Kumar wrote lyrics for the film and music was composed by Kanu Roy whose music was a hit in Anubhav too. The movie was critically acclaimed with critics. The films most song is Babul Mora Naihar Chhooto Jaye sung by Jagjit and Chitra Singh. This was earlier sung by actor-singer Kundan Lal Saigal for the Hindi movie Street Singer (1938) directed by Phani Majumdar, live on camera, under the music direction of Rai Chand Boral. It is also sung by Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. Other hit songs of the film are Naina Hain Pyase Mere sung by Asha Bhosle and Hansne Ki Chah Ne Kitna Mujhe by Manna Dey. Rajesh Khanna won Filmfare Best Actor Award for this film. پیسے سے مکان تو خریدا جا سکتا ھے ، گھر نہیں ۔ Griha Pravesh 1979 stars Sanjeev Kumar, Sharmila Tagore and Sarika in lead roles. It was written by Basu, and Gulzar wrote its script, dialouges and lyrics. Kanu Roy composed its music. It is a story of a successful office worker (Sanjeev Kumar) who is happily married has a brief affair with a sultry co-worker (Sarika). His wife (Sharmila Tagore) eventually wins him back from his lover. Its songs are sung by Bhupinder Singh, Chandrani Mukherjee, Sulakshana Pandit, Yesudas and Pankaj Mitra. These were modrately hit on release. Jagjit Singhs gazal Baat Niklegi To Phir Door talk Jayei Gi has also been used in the film.
