Revolvers arent perfect - Everything breaks Funny thing - TopicsExpress

Revolvers arent perfect - Everything breaks Funny thing happened today while at the range. Well, it was funny after it was done being scary. While my friend was shooting a revolver today we had a malfunction that locked the action up tight. Gun was out of the fight. After the 3rd shot everything locked up solid due to an under pressured cartridge. It was a squib load for the most part. Problem is there was enough pressure to push the bullet into forcing cone a few millimeters but not enough pressure to push the bullet into the barrel. The bullet was partially in the casing, partially in the forcing cone, and 100% stuck. Ive only seen 3 revolvers go down. But when it happens theres no drill to fix it, its done for the fight. Had the action lock up on a S&W J frame due to an internal part malfunction. Had to be disassembled to release cylinder. Sent in for repair. Had a Ruger SP101 fail when the recoil somehow got a single casing in front of the extractor when the other 4 cartridge / casing were behind it, like they were suppose to be. Whats the point of this? Nothing is perfect and everything breaks, at some point. Have a Plan B in place, Plan A might not be an option.
