Ridge Manor dgc #11 pin position & Shady Brook Greenway dgc - TopicsExpress

Ridge Manor dgc #11 pin position & Shady Brook Greenway dgc sign. (#s 1170 & respectively. Shady Brook dgc (#1169) WOULD be a great entry-level course, were it not for its proximity to the fence separating it from the super-slab known as I-75. Its impossible to get lost on this course, as most tees are just a few feet from the previous basket. Wind was the primary challenge. Several opportunities for more fun/challenging pin positions even on this incredibly space-restricted track. VERY convenient to the Interstate, as they share a border and the entrance is less than a putters throw from the exit. It took exactly 10 minutes to play... with a couple of wind-related mulligans. The only reason Ill play this again is to add this to the list of 9-holers that Ive shot -9 or better on. Ridge Manor (#1170) dgcs front 9 is fairly bland, without many features to take advantage of and fewer still that actually did so. The back offers more trees and water to spice things up. All 18 holes are on the front 9 of the Whispering Pines Golf course... Not to be confused with the Whispering Pines Disc Golf Course in Inverness... which is likely why THIS course didnt receive the same name. I was looking forward to the golf cart, but the club house was closed for the day. It took an hour to walk/play by myself. (usually a no-no, and for good reason. Long walks) The tee signs gave distances but no diagram. Many were missing, but the metal stakes were mostly there. Many tees are from cart paths. Others on carpet pads that were mostly overgrown. Worth a play, if for no other reason, to support the owner that bought into it, thinking wed come in droves.
