Road rage assault 30 September 2013 Detectives have launched an investigation after a man was assaulted following a road rage incident in Stalham on Saturday afternoon. It happened between 3.05pm and 3.15pm when two motorists were involved in a verbal argument following a dispute over a driving incident on the A149 between Wayford Bridge and Stalham. Both drivers were arguing on the roadside before the suspect armed himself with an iron bar, taken from the boot of his black Renault Scenic. He then attacked the victim, a man in his 40s, hitting him repeatedly causing serious injuries including a fractured finger and bruising. The suspect then fled the scene in the Renault. Investigating officer, Detective Constable Tom Gibbs, from Great Yarmouth CID, said: “This was a nasty assault which left the victim with serious injuries which needed hospital treatment. “During the incident both parties ended up in the carriageway causing passing vehicles to slow down to avoid them. We’re keen to hear from anyone who may have been travelling in the area at the time and witnessed the incident.” Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information concerning it. Contact officers at Great Yarmouth CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.
