Rock n Roll News: Sting Plugs His Last Ship Musical, Sings Ringtones, During Tonight Show Visit Sting visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday to talk about his new Broadway musical, The Last Ship. Sting told Fallon its been a challenge. I think its the most difficult thing Ive ever tackled, telling a story with songs, Sting explained, noting that the musical took five years of extraordinarily hard work to come to fruition. The Last Ship tells the story of a familys struggle to survive the decline of the shipbuilding industry during the 1980s in Wallsend, a community in northeastern England where Sting was born and grew up. The musical is currently in previews at the Neil Simon Theatre and officially opens October 25. The interview concluded with the British rocker having a little fun with Fallon and singing popular cell phone ringtones. Sting also recorded an outgoing voicemail message to the tune of the Polices Message in a Bottle for an audience member, picked at random.
