Rules of photography: Composition. Many rules cover this but this one is 6ft is boring. These were taken in Hue, Vietnam. These are incense sticks being made. These have been dipped in paint and left to dry in the sun. I took the first picture face on at eye level but then realised it would be better getting the shot low down and from the end of the row. The second shot looks much better with the colours flowing in a curve to the back of the photo. Rather than stand and take photos, experiment with shots from different angles and heights. :)
