Rural King Job Description Job Title: Regional Driver Reports To: Dispatch Job Location: Waverly, OH FLSA Status: Non-Exempt JOB SUMMARY: Drivers are responsible for delivering goods safely and efficiently. Those performing this job will receive direction from their Dispatchers. Regional drivers are dispatched with the possibility of being out up to 3 to 4 nights per week in a sleeper truck. One to five stops per load/pickup and delivery of backhauls can occur. JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Operates equipment in accordance with DOT and company rules. Adheres to all local, state and federal laws. • Timely and efficient pickup and delivery of trailers to designated destination • Understand driver’s hours of service regulations and be able to complete electronic log book • Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections on tractors/trailers and report defects found to maintenance personnel • Communicates delivery specific information to transportation personnel to aid in territory planning and route maintenance • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers and management • Other duties may be requested by management MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be at least 21 years of age • One year tractor-trailer experience preferred • Valid CDL-A with current state of residence on license • No more than three moving violations or reckless/careless driving violations within the last 3 years • No speeding violations at or above 15 mph over the posted speed limit • No revocation or suspensions related to moving violations, DUI/DWI, or felony convictions within last 3 years • No D.O.T. recordable/preventable accidents within the last 3 years • No more than 3 preventable accidents of any kind within the last 3 years • Must list 10 years employment history, if applicable, on application • Must be able to work independently and manage time effectively • Must be able to obtain hazmat and tanker endorsement within 3 months of date of hire SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: • None MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED: • Peoplenet Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
