Ruth and I started Wandering Duck because of our love of travel and our spirit of adventure. With social media and the internet, travel has become much easier. This is great as it has helped and encouraged more people to see the world. But what about our sense of discovery, fear of the unknown and getting off the beaten track? Does social media and the internet give too much away? Gunther Holtorf has just returned home to Germany after completing a 24 Year Road Trip. He travelled 556,000 miles across 214 countries in the same Mercedes 300GD. He set off in 1990 with his late wife Christine with the intention of travelling around Africa for 18 months. This video comes from his time with photographer David Lemke when Gunther was coming towards the end of his adventure. I hope you find the video inspiring.
