News reaching the FA is that Josta Dladla is still in talks with Kaizer Chiefs about possibly extending his contract at naturena Sundowns reportedly want to try and sign Oupa Manyisa and will pay BIG money in order to make it happen. Mpho Makola Speaks About The Gay Rumour After the much publicised and controversial picture of several Orlando Pirates players celebrating nedbank cup final victory Makola, has declared that there are no gay players in the Buccaneers camp EDWARD Manqele looks set to realise his dream of joining Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs. Although the bulky striker is scheduled to report at the Mamelodi Sundowns training camp on 23 June, SunSport has reliably learnt that a deal with Amakhosi management is almost sealed. The 26-year-old was due to join Chiefs during the January transfer window following an impressive performance for Moroka Swallows, where he scored eight goals while on loan last season. The highly publicised move failed to materialise and the player blamed his employers at Chloorkop for standing in his way. Swallows boss Leon Prins, however, has made it clear that they won’t try to persuade Manqele to stay, as they need new blood to avoid fighting relegation again. Explained Prins: “Manqele has gone back to Sundowns. We are refreshing our team and there will be a lot of players leaving and coming in within the next two weeks.” Now it seems Manqele’s dream will finally become a reality, as Downs have revealed that they won’t stand in any player’s way if the player wanted to further his career elsewhere. Said Sundowns spokesman Kabelo Mosito: “All players, including those who returned from loan, are scheduled to report for training on 23 June. The coach (Pitso Mosimane) and his technical staff will then decide what will happen Chiefs team manager Bobby Motaung was cagey when asked about the imminent arrival of Manqele at Naturena. He said: “We will make an announcement on all players coming and going next week.” Manqele made his professional debut with Free State Stars in 2011 from second division side Trabzon FC. He swiftly made an impact in the top flight, scoring 11 league goals in his first season with Ea Lla Koto. His incredible performance caught the interest of several PSL clubs, including Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. Although Chiefs were favourites to snatch him up at the time, Sundowns dangled a big carrot in front of Stars boss Mike Mokoena and Manqele joined Downs on a five-year deal in June 2012. However, he failed to impress then Sundowns coach, Johan Neeskens, and was loaned to Swallows in August 2013 BAFANA Bafana midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo has hinted again that he will leave Dutch side PEC Zwolle in the next transfer window and has once more talked up a move to Ajax Amsterdam. The 23-year-old confirms that there has been interest in his signature following an excellent campaign with PEC, who he helped to a shock 5-1 Dutch Cup final win over Ajax at the end of the last campaign. He was regarded as one of the best midfielders in the domestic league last season and that has naturally led to interest in his signature and he says first prize is to join his great friend Thulani Serero at Ajax. Theres a lot of interest, but still nothing concrete, Mokotjo told Soccer Central. Thulani and I know each other well and he has often asked me if I would come to Ajax. I have not heard from the club, but who would not want to play for Ajax? We could play well together. ITALYs Fabio Cannavaro has become the latest name to apply for the Bafana Bafana coaching post, as it emerged yesterday that David Moyes had decided to pull out of the race to replace Gordon Igesund. Representatives of Cannavaro, who captained Italy to World Cup triumph in 2006, sent through an inquiry about the post, which became vacant last week after the SA Football Association confirmed Igesunds contract, which expires in August, would not be renewed. But the 40-year-old, who retired in 2011 following a spell with United Arab Emirates club Al-Ahli, is a novice in the coaching world, having had a single spell as an assistant at the self-same Dubai side last year. His record as a player is great, however, as he has won the World Cup with the Azzurri, and two La Liga titles with Real Madrid. Cannavaro was a Ballon dOr winner in 2006. Whether Bafana, whove plunged into an abyss, require the services of a coaching novice remains to be seen, not least as several experienced coaches have also thrown their names into the hat for consideration. Once the [Safa] president [Danny Jordaan] confirmed last week that the post was vacant, we saw a lot of interest from all over, said a Safa insider yesterday, who said over 20 CVs had dropped in the Safa mailbox in the last week. They include those of Dutch quartet Ruud Krol, the former Orlando Pirates trainer, Dick Advocaat, Pim Verbeek and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who unlike his compatriots has no notable coaching history. Other high-profile names on what is becoming a ridiculously long list include Juan Ramon Lopez Caro, the experienced Spaniard who now coaches Saudi Arabia, and Manuel Jose, the four-time CAF Champions League winner with Egypts Al-Ahly. Former Manchester United manager Moyes, meanwhile, has withdrawn his application only days after handing it in via his agent last Friday. I have worked with David Moyes for the past 20 years and on Friday he wished to be considered, however, he now has another opportunity, so sorry for the change, an e-mail from Moyess agent Tony Asghar to Safa, which Sowetan has seen, reads. While applications continue to flood Safa House, the organisation is understood to be keen on Iran coach Carlos Queiroz to take over after the World Cup.
