SAINIK SCHOOL NAGROTA CELEBRATES VANMAHOTSAVA AT NAGROTA Jammu : 31 July 2013 Vanmahotsava was celebrated by the Sainik School, Nagrota in collaboration with Department of Social Forestry at Nagrota, today, in which the cadets and the staff planted saplings in the campus. The function was presided over by Sh. A K Gupta IFS Regional Director, Social Forestry, Jammu. In his welcome address, Sh VK Dembi In-charge Eco Club mentioned that more than 200 saplings of different varieties of trees and plants are being planted all over the campus. In another five years time, the campus will definitely improve environmentally and become a greener campus and contribute in containing Global Warming which is a great threat to our Mother Earth. After planting a sapling in the School Campus, the Chief Guest commended the efforts and initiative of the school administration in imparting eco-culture among young students and added that only the young generation with sound environmental awareness can save the nation from increasing threats of pollution. Col K D Koushal, the Principal in his concluding address thanked the Chief Guest and reiterated that every individual has a stake in protecting this unique planet. Moreover the Principal stated that this year’s focus will be to develop the ambiance of the upcoming multi-purpose auditorium in the campus. During high tea the Chief Guest interacted with the staff and cadets of the school and assured them of all possible assistance from the department of Social Forestry Jammu. The same function was also celebrated at Chinar Primary School a junior wing of Sainik School Nagrota. This function was presided over by Col K D Koushal, Chairman of the school.
