SALAHUDDIN, GEELANI, MIRWAIZ WELCOME PAK PM’S SPEECH United Jihad Council Chief, Syed Salahuddin, chairmen of both Hurriyat factions, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have hailed the speech of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in United Nations General Assembly, # SYED_SALLAHUDDI N In a statement issued to KNS, Sallahuddin said that Pakistan must remain firm on its stand and the statement made by Sharif reflects the aspirations of the people of the region. “Sharif in United Nations didn’t only won the hearts of the perturbed people of Kashmir but has also silenced those who earlier had claimed that Pakistan has diluted its stand on Kashmir.” Sallahuddin said that for peace in South Asia , Kashmir resolution is must and that time is near when the ‘dispute’ will be resolved in accordance to the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir. He also stressed that Pakistan must pursue its policy on Kashmir firmly and no step should be taken wherefrom this idea could be drawn that Kashmir cannot be addressed in accordance to people’s wishes. # SYED_ALI_SHAH_G EELANI While welcoming the historic statement of Prime Minister of Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif vis-a-vis regarding to the Kashmir dispute at UN general assembly session, Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani said that Nawaz Sharif not only repeated the traditional and historic stand of Pakistan vis- à-vis Kashmir issue on the floor of UN general assembly but, he also appealed all the world community to play their role in resolving the 67 years old pending issue. Geelani said, UNO had passed many resolutions with regard to the Kashmir solutions, so it is their responsibility to work for the right to self determination for its people for which they are waiting from a long time now. Geelani said that Pakistan should highlight the Kashmir issue at every level as the world is unaware about the difficulties and hardships of Kashmiris. # MIRWAIZ_UMAR_FA ROOQ Welcoming the statement on Kashmir by Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at UN in New York Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said, “Indian leadership should shun its intransigence and start a result-orientedmeaningful dialogue with Pakistan and Kashmiri leadership to solve the long pending dispute.” Terming the “brave stance” taken by Pakistan Prime Minister on the floor of UN general Assembly session as realistic, Mirwaiz said, “UN resolutions provide legal and historical basis to Kashmir issue besides the international community has also recognized the significance of right to self determination of the people of J&K.” # SHABIR_AHMED_SH AH Welcoming Pakistan Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif’s raising of Kashmir issue in the United Nations General Assembly, Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah said the Pak premier fulfilled his responsibility vis-à-vis Kashmir issue. “Kashmir is an international dispute acknowledged by United Nations itself, for which 18 resolutions stand witness in UN Security Council,” Shah said, adding New Delhi’s stubborn attitude cannot change the disputed status of Kashmir issue. Shah said both Congress Party and Narendra Modi led BJP government are hell bent upon keeping Kashmiris subjugated in every respect.
