SANTA CLARITA & beyond. DIGITAL BILLBOARDS WARS - I had never heard of this documentary but this 2 min trailer shows the struggle, frustration, anguish and anger of ordinary citizens like you and me to the INTRUSION of DIGITAL BILLBOARDS. BILLBOARDS vs DIGITAL outdoor signs. Unlike standard, static, printed vinyl or paper billboards all over the US, which most of us will agree tend to blend in and just sit there .... and do not JUMP OUT & ASSAULT the senses and the night sky... DIGITAL billboards ARE... INTRUSIVE & DISTRACTING: * BRIGHT L.E.D. LIGHTS illuminated in daylight .... and more so in the NIGHT SKY, * TV-LIKE images, 48ft wide x 14ft high, atop tall poles. * Ever moving, flashing, changing pixelated images Vehicles (drivers and passengers) moving in the direction of, approaching, passing by... are unable, even for a split second, to avoid the BRIGHT DIGITAL MEDIA image meant to garner eyes drawn to (and yes, distracted by) a huge TV in the sky Its an INVASION to the senses of DRIVERS & MOVING vehicles. Compare this wow! mental image ...above in the distance an ENORMOUS TV... (hey, we all grew up watching TV in our homes, and have gone to the movies at the theatre, and maybe if you were lucky enough as a youngster, like me, to have gone w/ your family to a DRIVE-IN movies for the big screen in the NIGHT sky experience.) But, that was BY PERSONAL CHOICE. Now think about being in YOUR HOME. A house you paid for, a home you own, or rent. It is evening, it is night. Its DARK outside, like its supposed to be. Your windows with curtains or blinds closed and you are thinking, Ah, time to relax and have some down time, have dinner, watch tv or go to sleep .... in the PRIVACY of your home. Now add to that mental image of the DARK NIGHT SKY. DIGITAL ILLUMINATED Billboards flashing, and invading your home * GLOWING diffused lights in your windows, * MOVING SHADOWY images ...... through the curtains, blinds ...... on your walls. * Sudden BRIGHT FLASHES in your living room or worse, in the bedroom when youre trying to sleep. Compare that to a static billboard, ... a printed image, non-moving, non-flashing, not glowing brightly in the heavens above .... just sitting there not FLASHING AT YOU Yes, DIGITAL media TV billboards have electric powered images which * flash, shine, * move, glow, * attract, change, * persistent * annoying, * invasive In the DARK NIGHT SKY In to PRIVATE HOMES. m.youtube/watch?v=_oiyWTOqjzU ******************************** SO.
