SEEK DAILY (NBC) Saturday, October 18 Psalm 55:12-23 I CALL UPON GOD As for me, I will call upon God, and the LORD shall save me. Psalm 55:16, NKJV When the disciples were convinced that they were about to die due to a terrifying storm, they forgot one important factor - Jesus Christ. They lost the consciousness of the fact that Jesus was in the boat with them (Mark 4:35). When they finally woke Him up, He rebuked the wind and the sea, and everything became completely calm. So long as the disciples assumed control of their situation, Jesus rested. But, when they called His attention, He got to work and saved them! Sometimes, when we are confronted with the storms of life, we give more attention to them than to God. This attitude only leads to further depression. However, if only you would call upon God, then you shall be delivered (saved) from your afflictions (Proverbs 18:10). The disciples called on Jesus to be delivered. You too can do so! God is waiting to hear you cry.
