SEEKING viticulture-enology related assistant/apprenticeship position. Available February 1st, 2014. Hello friends and future employers, I am seeking an apprenticeship-assistant driven position within the Napa/St.Helena area. I am actively searching for a 1 year+ position (ideally…but we interns cannot be choosy…) that will allow me to develop a more thorough understanding of the operations for one specific site or various sites affiliated with a single winery. I have been fortunate enough to hold a number of internships over the past few years since graduation and appreciate the variety and learning opportunities each have provided me with. That being said, I am eager to begin working in wine from a more permanent standpoint. My current goal: continue constructing the framework of my repertoire as a future winegrower. I wish to orientate this toward a wine-maker’s position from a viticulturist’s standpoint. My focus is to incorporate all wine-growing sectors as much as possible, using viticulture as the lynch pin. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, thoughts, or suggestions through private facebook messaging. Thank you for your consideration. Seeking: A viniculture-winegrowing apprenticeship/support position in viticulture or enology or viticulture and enology. Comfortable working in laboratory setting as well. Requirements: Ideally within the Napa/St. Helena area. Requires good instruction and clear communication that will allow me to effectively take action and complete assigned responsibilities. Qualifications: Desires to incorporate as many aspects and perspective of the wine-industry into my skill-set as possible. Willing to work flexible schedule with extended hours. Healthy ego, honest, and straightforward; would prefer someone of the like. Capable of remaining level headed in times of stress. Competitive, but calm and sensible. Understands the power of listening. Willing and able to perform physical labor and move 50+ lbs, in addition to stooping and bending. : )
