SERIES OF COLD NIGHTS: More well below normal days and nights will - TopicsExpress

SERIES OF COLD NIGHTS: More well below normal days and nights will stick around through the next 3-4 days at least. After a frigid start in the 20s this morning, sunshine helped us recover a little, and at least winds are not a major factor today. We are headed for another freeze tonight, although not as cold as last night. Clouds will increase as another arctic front moves through. This one appears to be mainly a dry front. MORE ARCTIC AIR: Friday will be a breezy, cold but sunny January day. Highs will struggle to reach 50 and gusty northwest winds will make it seem colder. It appears Friday night will be yet another frigid night as low temperatures head for the lower 20s again. DRY BUT COOL WEEKEND: This will be the first storm-free weekend in about 5 weeks or so. Look for cool sunshine on Saturday with highs in the lower 50s and another close to freezing Saturday night with a low near 32. Then, on Sunday, temperatures will be slightly warmer with a high of 56. LOOKING AHEAD: Many folks are off Monday for the MLK Holiday, and the weather looks very pleasant with mainly dry weather and highs in the lower 60s Clouds increase late Monday evening into Tuesday as another clipper type cold front drags southward into the state. Could be a shower or two, before it turns colder again for Tuesday and Wednesday, As we look well into the long range period, we dont any major storms systems on the board yet. --Rich Thomas, Doppler 12 StormVision Meteorologist Facebook: Rich Thomas WSFA 12 Weather Twitter: RichThomasWSFA mtassoni@wsfa
