SEU School has been following the Common Core Standards for the past two years. And, aside from the national debate, they (the CCSS) are really just standards and a road map to guide educators. We have always had standards, and this is important - would you want a Dr. to operate on you without having some guideline as to what the outcome should be, and a standard of care? I am grateful for all of the school parents who have trusted us and who understand that an excellent education has more to do with the interpretation of any standards. I have stayed quiet on this subject, but I do want to share a link that I read recently (posted by a teacher). And, after you read it, it is my hope that parents are grateful for a Catholic education that puts the child first, and not a specified curriculum.
