SHOULD YHWH’S PEOPLE FOLLOW THE TRADITIONS OF SECULAR CULTURE We have all been born somewhere on planet earth, in some nation and each nation with its own set of traditions, in the form of holidays and other practices. The problem arises when you and I decide we want to take our relationship with our heavenly Father seriously and obey His truth for our lives. With that being said we should never assume that the practices that our particular nation or culture recognizes are founded on the truth of Scripture. Now someone may say does it really matter if I observe and partake in these holidays sanctioned by man, after all don’t they foster worship of Christ among the masses. While, Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Sunday, Thanksgiving, Birthdays and other holidays all been given great cover stories to justify their observance the discerning child of the heavenly Father should realize that to be a true worshipper of the Creator we must only submit to a lifestyle of obedience to the truth He authorizes. Now the only place we can turn to for instruction, correction and reproof is the Holy Scriptures. There are many reasons that you and I could offer that on the surface, that would seem to justify ignoring our heavenly Father’s instructions. However we must ask ourselves the question why did I come to the Messiah and pledge to follow Him if I want to do what I think is right for my life anyway. The other issue is the one of signature every god that is worshipped in the world has their own particular way they want to be worshipped, this would be their signature the way they want to be identified. Well our Father has a signature also and we are to carry that name in private and as we travel out into the world among the people of the world. This is His seal or stamp on us and it is how we are identified as belonging to Him by others, the Sabbath is one good example of this. Just as other souls who have pledged their loyalty to the god they serve and are known by the particular things their god instructs them to do. Watchman Ben Israel by Ruach ha Kodesh
