SIERRA LEONE TO INCREASE MINIMUM WAGE FOR PRIVATE SECTOR WORKERS. The Minister of Labour and Social Security, Hon Mathew Timbo has disclosed in Freetown that after concrete engagement with the Sierra Leone Labour Congress they have agreed that effective September 1st 2014 all private sector workers should receive a minimum wage of Le 500,000 (Five hundred thousand Leones). He revealed that they are currently engaging the relevant authorities and also conducting a mass sensitization to ensure compliance.
