SINGAPORE WEEKS UP FOR 24 OCTOBER 2014 Our Halloween Party was undoubtedly the highlight of the week. The children outdid themselves, coming to school in a variety of costumes and they had a fun day of games, stories and Halloween treats. A reminder - Our Diwali Party is on: 30th October 2014 at 6:45p.m. for Newton Campus 31st October 2014 at 6:15a.m. for Broadrick Campus FROM THE CLASSES … Topics of discussion: - Country - Jamaica - Land and Water formation: Gulf and Peninsula - Parts of a Bird Talked about Halloween and Diwali Songs: Halloween and Diwali Songs Mandarin 华文 (BROADRICK) While we continued with our work, we talked about the following topics during group: - Country in South America – Brazil - Land and Water formation – Island and lake - Poem: Silent Night - Songs: Autumn and Diwali songs EXTENDED-DAY (BROADRICK) Topic for the month - Human Body - Introduction: - We will be talking about each organ in detail in the coming weeks - The ‘P1’ children learnt about Currency. - Books - We continued our literary journey with ‘The Magic Finger’ by Roald Dahl - Culture - We talked about Diwali - the Festival of Lights and made a ‘rangoli’. BIAN DANG BAN 便当班 (BROADRICK) - We learnt the names of geometrical solids - We discussed Diwali and Halloween - Songs: We sang autumn and Diwali songs - Craft: We made a ‘ghost’ with our hand print.
