SIX STEPS TO OVERCOMING THE FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN (1) PSALMS 61:1-8; 2 KINGS 6:8-17. 8 Mar 2014. 1. We have the God of the unknown on our side: He is Alpha and Omega and He reveals the deep and the secret. He knows what is in the darkness. Many Christians live and walk on the earth as though they had no one on their side. David knew which side God was on and you should settle that today that God is on your side and He will not let the enemy or life’s situation cause your downfall. Psalms 118:6-7 says “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.” 2. What is for us is too much for what is against us: 1 John 4:4 tells us “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” In 2 Kings 6 enemies came against Elisha and the servant said “Alas, master what shall we do?” the truth is that for you as a child of God regardless of what circumstance you face, what is for you is always greater than what is against you. the problem of God’s people is that they don’t know what is for them; they only know what is against them but I tell you the truth today that regardless of what you are passing through or what mess you think you are in. WHAT IS FOR YOU IS MORE THAN WHAT IS AGAINST YOU! 3. Be willing to exchange facts for a person: Faith depends on facts to work, but trust depends on a person to work. Trust is the highest form of confidence in God. The Bible tells us in Psalms 125:1 “They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.” The reason why trust is greater than faith is because faith depends on facts proven but trust depends on a person proven. Every one of us will come to a place that you don’t have any dependable fact to navigate the situation you are facing. There will be times that you cannot even trust the facts of the Bible. Even David said in Psalms 40:1-2 “I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.” There are times that what you are dealing with is so uncertain and so slippery that it can only be compared to miry clay. Prayer:Father, forgive me for days I forgot You were by my side. I trust you above and beyond whatever the enemy is throwing at me. I may not know the way but I know You are in control. Takeover today in Jesus’ name, amen.
