SPIRIT MEAT What You Must Kill in Order to Reign 1 kings 2 A new king needs to know what he must deal with and address, the people he should not allow to live and those he should strengthen relationship with for him to establish his reign in that kingdom. As an individual you must do the same to reign in life and find out majorly the groups of things to do. You must find out what you must kill and what you must feed or sustain. What you must kill must be killed, what you don’t kill will kill you and what you don’t deal with will deal with you eventually. They can be habits, personalities, relationships, weaknesses and tendencies. Actually what causes great men to fall started small with them when they were still small. During those periods those things could have been dealt with easily. What causes men to fall from grace to grass followed them from grass to grace; as they developed and grew those things grew and developed along with them. At times you need somebody to tell you what to kill. You need to find out what did not allow your fathers to reign; if they had dealt with those things they would have reigned better. Identify the things that hindered their manifestation; relationships that brought them down, things that they dealt with and things they failed to deal with. Some of them are things which you will rather overlook, but they have potential to kill when they develop. Conversely there are relationships that will help you to reign in life e.g. your relationship to your spiritual father or your pastor, your leaders and specific friendships God brings across your way. You must remember God lifts a man by another man e.g. David and Jonathan, Joseph and the cup bearer. There are habits you must sustain and altars you must build. There are also steps you must not take; Isaac was about going to Egypt when there was famine as it was in the days of Abraham, but God told him not to go (Gen. 26:1-2) This was what David showed Solomon before he died; to establish his reign he had to deal with those people. For us they are not much of personalities but things inside us, our decisions, relationships we keep or don’t keep, habits we disallow or develop, where we go or do not go e.t.c. They will determine the kind of people around us and influence us. Take your decision and write down what you will kill and what you will sustain today. Prayer: Lord, I receive the grace to live by the decision I am making today. Help me to identify what I must kill and what I need to sustain. Thank you Lord.
